So, OK, we are now in the Portland OR area.  Actually we are at Portland Fairview RV Park, in Fairview OR, just a little east of Portland along the Columbia River, off Interstate 84. www.portlandfairviewrv.com/
This is a nice spot lots of trees and nice and clean!  So yesterday...oh wait let me start over...Previously a few nights ago, Jim watched a commercial on TV saying there was going to be an RV show in Portland...Oh, yippee!!! So yesterday we went into Downtown Portland (gorgeous city BTW) and we stop at a donut shop we also saw on a HGTV program promoting eating places...don't think it was the triple D, but another one! Anyway...pretty darn good.  They make different, weird, way out donuts (supposedly).  I had a glazed donut covered in a cream cheese tasting frosting with orange sprinkles and also sprinkled with Tang!  Yes, Tang, our orange drink that went to outer space!!! Cool huh?  And Jim was so (into) finding this weird adventurous donut place he had to have a....drum roll....apple fritter!!!! Way to step out of the (pink) box Honey!!! LOL!!!

They had cute tee shirts...kinda sexist...magic happens in a hole and then the whole pink box thing...I dunno, maybe its just my weird since of humor...Ha Ha!!!!
So, OK getting back to "THE" RV Show...well we got to the location without any incidents...drive up and yes, it is free...OK honey get your money out for the parking...drive up and WoW parking is free too!! I'm thinking this is NOT a good sign...nothing good is this Free!!!  So...remember when we had to go to Eugene to have the warranty work done?  We took the Dragon to Paul Evert's RV?  Guess What?????  This hole (had to use hole just once more...ahem...my weird brain)...RV show was a one man show...no vendors, like we assumed we would see, ie. pots and pans, mattresses, BBQ's etc...you get the picture.  AND the one man show was guess who it was?  Go ahead....Yep, Paul Fricken Evert's!!!!  Only his RV's, that's it...drove all this way to see RV's we've already seen!!!  Least the Outer space Donut was worth the trip!

So, OK, the reason we stopped here in Beautiful Fairview was it has a Walmart so Jim can get his prescriptions filled...well, we got 2 filled but still awaiting his 3rd.  Jim has social security and has to get his Rx's filled at Walmart (cheaper for us). But since our "Home" Walmart is in Paso Robles, CA and is also where his doctor is located, he has to contact the Dr's office and have them send the refill to the Paso Walmart and then the Fairview can do a "Transfer" to collect the Dr's refill approval.  So Friday we get here and Jim calls his Dr's office and asks them to call the Pharmacy @ Walmart...blah, blah, blah...OK we'll do it this afternoon for sure...next day Jim calls Walmart in Paso to check to see if they got the fax from the Dr? Nope...so we're hanging out here longer in hopes of getting the Rx on Monday...what a pain!! I don't understand why people can't do what they say they're going to do?? Why? Otherwise just say sorry I can't do it for you today I'll do it first thing Monday!! I don't get it!!!

So, OK, we met the nicest guy here last night...he was coming from Florida, where we're heading and we got some great info. from him.  Since we're new at this and he's a seasoned RV'er we've decided not to go to Coeurd'Alene ID...he says he thought it was too expensive and the services for RV'ers isn't very good...Sooo, were going to truck on to Montana and bypass Idaho altogether.  We are going to stay a night or two at an RV part west of Pendleton, OR on the Columbia River in a town called Boardman.  www.boardmanmarinapark.com/   It looks nice and then from here we can travel onto Bozeman, MT.

Before I bid you adue...I want to put out there to Heaven...a Loving Happy Birthday Remembrance to my Dad...Happy Birthday Tomorrow, Clyde...kiss Mom for me, I miss you both a bunch!!

Sunday, June 1, 2014 - Happy Birthday Butch...Hope you had a Great Bday!  Well since my last post we stayed a week at Netart's Bay RV Park and man was it BORING!!! So far every RV place we've stayed at we've been next to "Widowers" of much older age.  They're sweet and stuff...but everytime?? I wish we were able to meet some folks more our age.  Well, I guess I'm not accepting my position in life or I'm not as young as I thought I was? Ha!  So...ok, here's my homage to our first three widowed neighbors...Floyd 86, who'd come out and slyly accuse us of turning off his water, or messing with his TV hookup...then come back and appologize because he found out later he did it himself! Cute huh...well at least he'd come tell us...in his round about way.  Then there was Tim 81 who had a home elsewhere and leave this trailer here and come back to stay on the weekends...his second home!  Cool Tim!! And our current camper neighbor Morey, I'd say is in his late 70's...don't know too much about Morey, he leaves everyday in his car and comes back later in the day.
So OK...Netart's Bay we went claming one day...oh boy, what a site we were....Haha!! Jim buys me some rubber boats at BiMart cuz all I have a two pairs of tennis shoes...so these boots have a little heel and are somewhat heavy but they fit so we bought them.  Fast forward...we bought our shellfish licenses, $7 each for the year.  We drove down to the little marina in Netart's just down the street from the RV park we and Tim are living in, we happen upon folks that work for Oregon Fish and Wildlife...talk to a young guy and he tells us to go down the road and just past the fish hatchery there is a gravel parking area.  Park there and walk out from there and you'll find a good spot for claming.  Okedoki...sounds good, that's where we'll go the next day then!!!  A plan, yea!!!  Minus tide is 8:30ish in the morning, not so bad.  There are other cars in the gravel parking area where the Fish and Game guy told us to go...OK, looks good.  Another group of people are walking toward the beach the same time as us, we let them pass and we carry on behind them.  When we all reach the beach area they all go farther on down the path and we head off right away off the trail and hop right down onto the beach....MUD!  And I mean MUD the kind you can die in.  The kind that is so sticky and thick you can actually lose limbs, not to mention FEET!!!  OMG, I watch the group that was ahead of us go a different way and they are way out there walking around like no problem...Jim's slightly ahead of me yelling hurry and don't stop...but too late, I AM STUCK and boy am I stuck...now my heavy boots are even heavier and I can't lift my feet...and the more I try to lift one foot the deeper my other foot sinks and now I'm totally stuck and I cannot budge my feet at all...so down I went on my hands and knees and now I'm covered in MUD!!! I look up at Jim and he's just looking at me like, you gotta be kidding me???  I yell, I'm a city girl, I'm not cut out for this kinda stuff!!!!  I don't like clams that much anyway!!!  So he comes over to help me and I cannot pull my feet out with these boots on so I pulled my feet out of them and left 'em there...well after a little while Jim got my boots out of the"Fricken Muck" but then he got stuck and he fell too! So there we were both of us covered in MUD and well...what a site we were...what a couple of clowns!!!  Ha...Jeez it would've been nice if that nice young Fish and Game guy had warned us about the MUD!!! (Life lesson #1)  Once we both break free we head back to the car kinda pissed off...well, Jim was pissed because once he decides to do something, its hell or high water, he's going to do it!!  So we drive down the road a ways and find another spot that's a lot less muddy then the first place our little buddy told us to go to...bare foot and cold...we ended up with 10 clams. (limit is 20). So glad we didn't bring Bijou!! OMG!
So we went back to a fish store and bought some more clams b/c we didn't have enough to make chowder with, (which we should have just bought the fricken things in the first place) would have been more fun for me...Haha!! No, really....so now we're going to make clam chowder in the 5th wheel...yeah me, can't wait!! LOL!!!  Oh, have I mentioned I am REALLY OCD about cleanliness?!!
So, OK did I mention the night before I really cut my finger good dicing an onion and sliced off a big hunk of finger...took me awhile to get it to stop bleeding and boy it hurt!  I had a dull knife...I knew I should've sharpened it...dang!!  So cleaning the clams and oh yeah, Jim also bought some oysters for BBQ'ing, he was going to be the clam/oyster shucker and cleaner...ha, we had every pot and pan, dish and bowls, knives and cutting boards all dirty and every counter top filled with pots and pans and stuff...all I could do was stand there and try to control my OCD tendencies which were making me twitch!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! don't drop that on the floor...get a sponge!!!! OMG!!!!  So, OK, lets sum up my day...stuck in the worst MUD and about to die in this dirty muck...continue the day digging barefoot only to find 10 clams...go to store buy more plus their little buddies that are even harder to open...Jim in my kitchen of my 5th wheel, which is small and MAKING A FRICKEN MESS!!! OMG!!! Did I say I love the Ocean!!! I really do! LOL!

Thursday, May 22, 1914

So, OK, its been awhile since my last post, but I haven't had too much to tell.  Just been waiting for Jim to get back from So Cal and waiting for our warranty work appointment day to get the love seat repaired.

Unfortunately since my last post, the other side of the sofa is now ripping and since we didn't get that approved we have to start the process all over again to get it repaired, which means taking more photos, pulling up the entire seat again so we can take another photo of the model/serial number label on the underside of the unit, then wait for approval and shipment of yet another side of the love seat.  That can take another month or so!! URGGGG...this is getting so frustrating!!! I just want to go and start our adventure already!!!  So, OK...here's what I think, or so I should say we think...but since I'm writing the blog, for arguments sake, if I say I...I always mean "we or us"!

So, I thought these couches are made like "Crap"!  So I figure we will continually have problems with them.  They rip in the same location, where the stress point is in the corner of the seaming...so why not ask for a complete new type of seating all the way around, right?  So I spoke to the Mfg. Rep and he said get me the photos (see above) and I can usually get an approval within a day...but here's the big but...Ha! They will only give us a credit for the couches we have and then we can go out and buy their replacements ourselves.  So, OK...how much are they going to give us?  No clue!!!

So, along this thinking we head out to a place in Eugene that specializes in RV furniture!  We find one love seat combo similar to the one that ripped but a lot nicer...won't fit our dimensions, but can move to the other side where the larger sofa is now, but then we'll have a big gap b/c that sofa is longer and this love seat is smaller...URG!!! Then the furniture Mfg. doesn't make a matching sofa size to match that love seat that we liked...another URG!!!  So we did find ones to fit perfectly but they are terribly UNCOMFORTABLE!!! Looked nice, but not comfortable...URG again, not to mention VERY EXPENSIVE TOO!!!  OK...at this point...Can I please get my house back!!!!

So, OK, we moved on and went ahead and had the 1st torn love seat section repaired and it appears the replacement part is firmer and more padded than its predecessor and it may be OK after all...time will tell. We want to move on and move to the Oregon Coast for awhile and then head east in June. We really don't want to hang around here for another month waiting for the other side section of this fricken love seat!!!  We're thinking we will just call the RV Mfg Rep and send him the photos he requires and then ask him to make note of the date and we will arrange with him a new dealer in a new location to repair this section of the love seat albeit at a different time and location suited to our travels!  Whadaya think? With our luck, this probably won't fly, but worth a try nonetheless...story to be continued.

So, Ok, we are now staying at Deerwood RV Park here in Eugene, OR and it is Beautiful!! I love this place!

So, OK, we leave this beautiful place tomorrow and head towards Tillamook on the Oregon Coast where we will be staying at Netarts Bay Garden RV Resort.  Can't wait to do some Crabbing...Yes!!!
More posts once we're situated and lots more photos too!

So, ok, here’s the story today:  May 13, 2014, another beautiful day...just sitting here nothing to much to say...Goose is sick so hanging around here watching her...oh, Goose is one of many nicknames for our black Lab, we adopted her from the human society in 2001 and they said she was 4 yrs old...so she's getting up there and very precious to us...so we'll hang out here today and let her rest!
